Progress, Freedom, and Profit

A performance in the form of a power-point presentation in which Ruchama Noorda depicts a world based on marketing strategies. Noorda’s performances are characterized by the want of wanting an omniscient ideology. Her use of religious terminology in combination with corporate buzzwords shapes a dubious and alienating manifesto.

September 7, 2007 - October 20, 2007

Opening reception: September 7, 17:00-20:00 hrs

Ostie Câlice Tabarnac: an installation by Ruchama Noorda built out of text and objects, dealing with beauty, success, money and artifacts of worship. Central to this work is the holy grail series of ornamented ceramic vessels, which mix old time religion with contemporary symbols of money and power.
